A Note From Tara

A woman smiling with kind eyes, curly dark hair, glasses, and wearing a striped short-sleeve shirt and white pants, standing outdoors in a garden with green foliage and colorful flowers in the background. Facial expression is warm and compassionate.

It is an honor and a privilege to walk with individuals and couples through their darkest valleys, holding the light of hope that there is a way out that is through. I consider it sacred to be with you in the suffering as a representative of Love, speaking truth, kindness, and compassion in the places where you have become accustomed to the voice of shame, guilt, doubt, and fear. I consider it an honor and a calling to climb into the pits of trauma, depression, and anxiety, and show you the way out in step with your unique process. In you, there is light and life and love but it has been marred and covered by the stains of life in a broken world. The echoes of trauma may reverberate in your mind, heart, body, and behaviors, but that is not all you are. The authentic and true you, the Imago Dei, whose value exceeds your doing and your suffering, is within you, longing to emerge. It is my great passion to see you deeply, be with and transform your pain, guide you toward healing, and call forth the glorious You within. Together, we overcome evil with good. We free the parts of you held captive by trauma and the pain of aloneness. We trade ashes for beauty, isolation for connection, mourning for joy, and insodoing see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living, available even and especially to you.

Specializations

Religious trauma, church hurt, & spiritual abuse

Healing the wounds that shape the way you relate to yourself, others, and the sacred.

Some experiences leave us questioning who we are, what we believe, and whether it is safe to trust. They affect our sense of belonging, identity, trust, and relationship with the sacred. Whether your wounds stem from religious communities, harmful theology, purity culture, or faith deconstruction, therapy can offer a place to slow down, listen deeply, and reconnect with yourself - mind, body, and spirit. Through an embodied, relational approach, we'll explore not only your story, but how it lives in your sense of self, relationships, body, and spiritual life. Together, we'll explore the impact of spiritual wounds and create space for healing, integration, and renewed connection.

Therapy for Women

I help women listen to the stories their bodies are telling, so that they can hold the pen.

Perhaps there is more to your body than how it looks…

Perhaps her tears are the testament to all that is broken and dying in this world, her fears a compass to what is out of order.

Perhaps her energy is vitality pulsating you into a life of flourishing and creativity, her dance an invitation back into your body down to the soles of your feet.

Perhaps your body was meant for you to inhabit it, to be at home within it, to feel beautiful inside and out.

Perhaps you were meant to walk with strength and dignity as a unique form and force for good in the world.

Perhaps her desires are pointing you toward meaning and calling,

her aches are the groans of where and how you’ve been harmed,

Perhaps her size and strength are invitations to take up space in your life,

her voice and ideas are the billowing overflow of your internal world.

Perhaps her anger is a protest to broken systems and relationships, the unprocessed grief of a life of silencing.
